SAFETY COORDINATOR

Supreme Windows is an industry leader in the manufacture and supply of windows and doors.  Supreme has been in operation in Alberta for over 50 years, operating in the residential contractor, new construction, renovation and dealer markets.
Due to an upcoming retirement, Supreme is looking to hire a part-time Safety Coordinator (24 hours / week) based out of S.E. Calgary.  Key duties include:

  • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly safety meetings
  • Perform Site inspections and plant inspections
  • Employer reporting and follow up
  • Maintain WHMIS – including research  and inventory
  • Employee orientations, employee files and certificates
  • Safety projects including Reports to Management
  • Hazard assessments and recommendations

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • COR experience and training
    • Principles of Health & Safety Management
    • Leadership for Safety Excellence
    • Legislation Awareness
    • Auditor Training
  • Prefer ACSA certification
  • Peer Auditor experience a plus
  • Experience with safety programs for field operations, plant operations and transportation
  • Excellent people skills and facilitation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • In depth knowledge of OHS guidelines and practices
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role
