Quality Health and safety programs are based on legislation requirements and industry best practices. There are federal, provincial, and municipal statutes regarding safety. These statutes often differ from one jurisdiction to another; however, they are based on the common belief that the worker's health and safety must be protected.

Legislation that deals with specific aspects of safety are:

  • Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation and Code
  • WCB Act
  • Employment Standards
  • Safety Codes for building standards, fire and electrical protection
  • Traffic Safety Act and Regulations
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods "Clear Language" Regulations
  • Atomic Energy Control Act

The specific legislation and safety code that govern a work site depend on the combination of conditions, people, equipment, materials, environment, and tools needed for a particular job. Followings are our practices to make our work places safe:

  • Daily Hazard Assessment for each work area and job site
  • Daily preventive maintenance on all vehicles
  • Monthly Safety Site Inspections

  • Preventive Maintenance program for major equipment
  • First aid needs met by having trained first aiders and proper first aid kits
